HOT MODERN GLAM PT. 6 - POWDER BATH/HALL BATH

Thanks for coming back to the blog! The final spaces in this “Hot Modern Glam” series are the powder bath and the hall guest bath. Let’s start with the powder bath.

I really wanted to do something bold in the powder bath, but muted due to my client suffering from migraines. In order to do that, we used the new favorite color (Urbane Bronze) and created a monochromatic look with various wall paints, and a subtly dramatic glass tile. The glass tiles were a similar shade to our wall color and with the mirror effect, it gives the illusion of a bigger bathroom. The limestone flooring used was also in our monochrome palette. See what we did below.

In the before photo, you can see that a tp stand and air freshener on a stool. There was also a small vanity with a vessel sink. We built a larger vanity that sits flush with the wall, and installed an undercount sink. This creates more storage space for bathroom necessities and a larger counter surface. This prevents items from rolling off the side and getting lost in the abyss under the cabinet. There is also a toe kick under the cabinet so items only roll so far underneath.

In the hall bathroom, we really just wanted to update the space. It was outdated, there was no mirror mounted on the wall and it had the tub/shower combo. We used the same flooring from our powder bath for a little consistency in the design, but for the shower surround, we went with a beautiful large-format porcelain tile. Of course we mounted a mirror, installed light bars, and customized a new vanity with an undermount sink. You can view the changes below.
